There are many Ayurvedic rituals to care for the health and beauty of your face. After opening the pores and purifying the skin with a steam bath, Shiro Svedana, the second step is exfoliation.

Exfoliation is performed on cleansed skin, preferably after a steam bath. Exfoliation deeply cleanses the skin, removes dead skin, tightens pores, and makes the skin brighter.

In Ayurveda, it is said that everything that can be applied to the skin has to be edible. Therefore, the preparation used to make the scrub must be edible.

The ingredients are chosen according to the individual's constitution

Scrub for Vata Skin

Vata skin is thin and cool. It’s sensitive to cold. It dries out and wrinkles easily.

Vata Skin Scrub Recipe : 1/4 tsp turmeric powder + 1 tsp milk + 1 tsp wheat flour + 1 tsp almond powder. Take care with turmeric powder, which can stain clothes.

Scrub for Pitta Skin

Pitta skin is moderately thin and warm to the touch. It’s sensitive to the sun. It’s prone to inflammation, pimples, and redness.

Pitta Skin Scrub Recipe : 1 tsp rosehip oil + 1/2 tsp sugar + 1/2 coriander powder

Scrub for Kapha Skin

Kapha skin is thick and cool to the touch. It’s well moisturized and tends to be oily. It’s prone to pimples, especially blackheads.

Kapha Skin Scrub Recipe : 1 tsp coffee grounds + 1 tsp mustard oil

Apply the mixture to the skin with your fingertips in circular motions for a few minutes, then rinse with water. The skin is ready for a mask if desired. To be done once a week.
