What is Kajal ?

Kajal is a Sanskrit word meaning Charcoal.
Kajal comes in the form of a solid cone. It is composed of ghee, beeswax, camphor and vegetable oils.
It can be colorless or come in different colors.
It has been used for centuries in India both as a beauty treatment for eye health and as a makeup tool to enhance the look.
Eyes in Ayurveda
According to Ayurveda, the eyes are organs of the Pitta dosha, the dosha of transformation, composed of fire and water. As a result, the eyes are connected to the liver, so liver disorders affect vision disorders. In Ayurveda, it is believed that the right eye is connected to the sun and the left eye to the moon.
Ayurveda believes that the eyes give us double vision.
~A vision of the outside world. Our eyes absorb and perceive the elements that they send to the brain which will transform them into knowledge.
~A vision of our inner world, knowing how to look within oneself, a vision directly linked to our soul hence the proverb “the eyes are the mirror of the soul”.
What are the benefits of Kajal ?
Kajal protects the eyes from external attacks such as wind, sun, dust or pollution. In addition to strengthening the eyes and eyelashes, it improves eyesight. In addition, it provides hydration and refreshment.
How to apply and choose your Kajal ?
Kajal can be applied both on the upper eyelid and in the lower mucous membrane.
~It can be used as an eyeliner line on the top of the eyelid. We draw a line on the top of the upper eyelid starting from the inner corner of the eye to the outer corner.
~We can also use it as an eyeshadow by roughly drawing a line and then blending with our finger.
~Finally, we can use it as an eye pencil on the inside of the mucous membrane.
Unlike pencils, Kajal cannot be sharpened. In order to keep its fine lead, it is advisable to use it at an angle.
Always choose an organic Kajal. The Kajal from the SoulTree brand are particularly interesting. This brand offers a wide variety of colors and its composition respects the health of the eyes.
And you, have you ever tried Kajal, a treatment that both strengthens the eyes and beautifies the look ?
